D-Day Celebrations

Mersea Lions Club were proud to be part of the D-Day celebrations which started with the lighting of the Beacon at the Victoria Esplanade Car Park on the evening of Thursday 6 June. Lions Bridget, Carol, Glenn and Joe manned a gazebo near the children’s playground as a centre for lost children.  We are happy to report that no children were lost at the event.

On Sunday 9 June some of our members were able to attend the Remembrance Church Service followed by an afternoon at the Royal British Legion where they enjoyed cake and listened to the Tendring Brass Band.
